Port Sunlight River Park Heritage Lottery fund news

Port Sunlight River Park is delighted to announce that the Land Trust have been awarded a grant of £446,000 from the Heritage Lottery Fund for our project; Discovering Bromborough 3. Delivered in partnership with Autism Together and Big Heritage, the funding will convert the former Biffa offices on site into a Heritage centre with coffee shop and improved visitor facilities; provide an education officer to work with school and community groups for two years; and open up the Old Courthouse with paths and interpretation, following another two seasons of archaeological digs. The digs will take place in summer and early autumn 2018 with a short season in 2019. The coffee shop will be ready this autumn with the heritage elements the following year. The improved visitor facilities will be beneficial to all and the Land Trust are very grateful to the National Lottery fund players for this funding.

If you’d like to be involved in any of the activities, please contact the ranger, Anne Litherland on river.park@autismtogether.co.uk and look out for Heritage Open Day events.
